Electric Town Arcade Game Lineup Spotlight – What You'll Play
From legendary fighting game cabinets to cutting-edge Japanese rhythm games, here's a look at the games you can enjoy when we open. Featuring authentic candy cabinets, Time Crisis 3, Jubeat, Nostalgia, and the rare Densha de GO! train simulator.
One of the most exciting aspects of Electric Town Arcade is the carefully curated game lineup. We're bringing authentic Japanese arcade experiences to Springfield with a mix of classic fighting games, modern rhythm games, and unique imports you won't find anywhere else in the region.
The Candy Cabinet Collection
At the heart of Electric Town Arcade are our authentic Japanese candy cabinets – the sleek, colorful arcade machines that define Japanese game centers. Unlike bulky Western cabinets, candy cabs are compact, stylish sit-down units with vibrant displays and comfortable seating perfect for competitive play.
These cabinets can be easily swapped with different game boards, allowing us to rotate titles and keep the experience fresh. You'll find classics and modern favorites running on genuine Sega and Taito hardware.
Fighting Games
Fighting games are the backbone of any Japanese arcade, and we're bringing the best:
- Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike – The legendary Capcom fighter beloved by competitive players worldwide
- Tekken 7 – The latest in Bandai Namco's iconic 3D fighting series
- Guilty Gear Strive – Arc System Works' stylish anime fighter with gorgeous visuals
- The King of Fighters XV – SNK's team-based fighting game with deep mechanics
Light Gun Games - Time Crisis 3
Time Crisis 3 is coming to Electric Town Arcade! This Namco classic defined arcade light gun gaming with its innovative pedal system – duck behind cover by releasing the pedal, pop out to shoot. The fast-paced action, multiple weapons, and memorable boss battles make Time Crisis 3 a must-play experience that's best enjoyed in an arcade setting.
Rhythm Games
Japanese rhythm games are what truly set Electric Town Arcade apart. These games are rare in the U.S. but hugely popular in Japan:
Jubeat
Jubeat (also known as Jukebeat) by Konami is a unique rhythm game featuring a 4x4 grid of illuminated panels. Players tap the panels in rhythm with the music, creating an engaging physical and musical experience. With a massive song library spanning J-pop, anime themes, video game music, and more, Jubeat is accessible for beginners but offers incredible depth for advanced players.
Nostalgia
Nostalgia is Konami's piano-themed rhythm game that simulates playing a real piano. The cabinet features an actual keyboard layout where players hit the correct keys in rhythm with falling notes. It's a beautiful fusion of music education and gaming, with a soundtrack featuring classical pieces, jazz, and contemporary arrangements. Perfect for music lovers and aspiring pianists alike!
Train Simulation - Densha de GO!
One of our most unique offerings is Densha de GO! – Japan's beloved train simulator. This isn't your typical arcade game; Densha de GO! accurately simulates operating real Japanese trains, complete with authentic controls including throttle levers, brake handles, and speed indicators.
Players must follow precise schedules, make smooth stops at stations, and navigate realistic railway routes. It's challenging, surprisingly engaging, and offers a uniquely Japanese gaming experience you simply can't find anywhere else in Missouri. Train enthusiasts and curious gamers alike will love trying their hand at being a Japanese train conductor!
More Games Coming
This is just the beginning! We'll be rotating games regularly and adding new titles based on community feedback. Electric Town Arcade is committed to bringing the best of Japanese arcade culture to Springfield.
Future additions may include:
- More rhythm games (Dance Dance Revolution, SOUND VOLTEX)
- Racing games with authentic cabinets
- Shmups (shoot-em-ups) and classic arcade games
